SSI SCHAEFER is looking for an Application Engineer – Logistics Solutions to join our team. This role is crucial in developing system concepts, generating designs, and building cost models for logistics projects across Australia and New Zealand. You’ll work closely with customers, internal teams, and international product centres to create tailored, high-quality solutions.

Salary $70-$95K + Super
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop cost-effective and attractive system concepts in collaboration with Product & Equipment, Project Delivery, Software, and Customer Service teams.
Assist in preparing customer proposals, including clear descriptions of operations and technical specifications.
Provide engineering and design support, including estimating and drafting.
Build a strong knowledge of SSI SCHAEFER automation solutions and product offerings.
Contribute to automation project design and proposal reviews.
Deliver internal presentations on proposed solutions.
Identify and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Education & Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Applied Science.
Alternatively, a Tradesman Certificate of Proficiency in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
Key Skills & Experience
Experience in a solutions engineering or similar role.
Exposure to intralogistics technology (highly desirable).
Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
Effective time management, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of cost-effective solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
