At CeMAT 2018, market leader SSI SCHAEFER is spotlighting new products, smart solutions, and leveraging innovative presentation methods and eye-catching showcases. The company can be found at stand F45 in hall 021.
“In many areas of intralogistics, digitization is already the norm and it will become increasingly important as an enabler of new, transparent processes, opening up huge opportunities. We are therefore very pleased that CeMAT 2018 has chosen Connected Supply Chain Solutions as its theme,” states Klaus Tersteegen, Managing Director, SSI SCHAEFER Neunkirchen. As in previous years, the SSI SCHAEFER stand is a platform for the presentation of scalable, high-performance and smart intralogistics technologies. At the exclusive launch event at 3pm on Monday, the focus is on three specific products: the scalable SSI Flexi Shuttle, the new WAMAS® LRM – Labor and Resource Management, and the latest generation of the SSI ORBITER®. SSI SCHAEFER will also be emphasizing the benefits of its LOGIMAT® vertical storage lift and offering visitors a virtual tour of the highly versatile SSI Carrier pouch sorter.
The new scalable, single-level shuttle is designed to make the best possible use of available storage space. It can handle carriers and containers of many shapes and sizes up to 50kg – in conjunction with high throughput and exceptional flexibility. A unique feature is the system’s ability to support dynamic storage position dimensions.
WAMAS LRM, the new labor and resource management system from SSI SCHAEFER, takes intralogistics efficiency, productivity and transparency to new heights. This smart solution does not simply consider individual processes, but the entire flow of goods within intralogistics facilities. It captures key performance indicators for all warehouse workers as the basis for analysis and targeted improvements – data can be evaluated for specific individuals, groups or shifts.
SSI SCHAEFER’s IT specialists are employing the WAMAS® via voice control showcase to explain the importance and impact of digital transformation, artificial intelligence and the cloud. Moreover, they will be underlining the strengths of SSI SCHAEFER’s modular and integrative software solutions WAMAS®, WAMAS® GO! and SAP EWM, and providing visitors with in-depth expert advice.
Channel storage is space-saving, but requires powerful, dependable putaway and retrieval vehicles. SSI SCHAEFER has launched a new generation of SSI ORBITER, a system capable of supporting varying degrees of automation. The new solution sets new standards in terms of speed, efficiency and flexibility. SSI SCHAEFER professionals at CeMAT 2018 will be explaining the features of the SSI Orbiter for semi-automated solutions and the SSI Orbiter LHD for fully automated scenarios. The innovative SSI ORBITER combines outstanding reliability with exceptional dynamism.
The LOGIMAT vertical storage lift was designed with the demands of small parts warehouses in mind – taking maximum advantage of space, both horizontally and vertically, and ensuring end-to-end process efficiency. This solution is both a storage and picking system in one, reducing the distances walked or traveled by staff. SSI SCHAEFER also offers a broad portfolio of high-performance control software for LOGIMAT systems: the company’s own WAMAS intralogistics software is provided as standard but the company has recently introduced SAP as an alternative.
Award-winning technology experienced via AR: The SSI Carrier pouch sorter leverages a single drive unit for multiple functions: conveying, putaway, buffering, distributing and sorting. It is a pioneering technology, and has been recognized as one of Germany’s most progressive industrial solutions by a leading award program (Bestenliste Industriepreis 2018). The modular system is ideal for multiple, concurrent distribution channels, and can be deployed as an especially cost-effective and dynamic form of buffer storage for e-commerce returns.
Virtual intralogistics: Thanks to a virtual reality application, visitors to the SSI SCHAEFER stand will be able to take a 3D tour of the automatic high-bay warehouse operated by REYHER, a major distributor of industrial fasteners. As virtual passengers, they will experience up-close the exceptional speed and throughput of highly dynamic putaway and retrieval processes – including a trip on the energy-efficient Exyz.
The stand will present a combination of the highly traditional with the highly advanced: SSI SCHAEFER is using Microsoft HoloLens to allow visitors to experience the made-to-measure engineered packaging developed for world-renowned model train manufacturer Märklin.
