SSI SCHÄFER collaborated with C&S Wholesale Grocers, one of the largest food wholesalers in the USA, to modernize the internal logistics for ES3 using the Schaefer Case Picking (SCP) system. In addition to automating the warehouse processes, other key elements for the success of this project included the integrated automation of the border-related case picking and the dispatch of the shipments. Result: The highly automated distribution center provides roughly 90,000 tray spaces in its high bay warehouse. In addition, the material flow and picking areas are divided among three storeys, enabling a throughput of more than 100,000 cartons of goods.
