Mutual Focus on the Customer’s Advantage
SSI SCHAEFER integrates mobile robots from HAI ROBOTICS into highly efficient overall systems for intralogistics. Going forward, operators will benefit from individual solutions from a single contact person before, during and after realization.
SSI SCHAEFER and HAI ROBOTICS, a pioneer in autonomous case handling robotics systems, are bundling their competencies as part of a cooperation. As a result, SSI SCHAEFER, the world’s leading solution provider of modular warehouse and logistics systems, is adding mobile robots for small parts handling to its product portfolio starting in 2022. These robots are able to transport up to eight bins/cartons at the same time, while storing and retrieving those from heights of up to ten meters. The intralogistics specialist integrates these robots called RackBots into holistic system solutions, each of which are tailored to the customer’s growing demands for accelerated, fault-free and efficient order processing while significantly reducing the use of resources – in the dynamically developing e-commerce sector, for example. Thanks to its broad range of products and services, SSI SCHAEFER is able to solve the challenges of its customers by using predefined racking systems and mobile robots with only one contact person before, during and after implementation. Consequently, customized requirements can always be met in a manner that is customer-focused instead of merely product-focused.
“In HAI ROBOTICS, we have won a strong partner with an outstanding reputation and extensive experience in this field, holding more than 400 patents and running more than 300 projects in the world,” adds Markus Külken, Vice President Product Line Material Flow at SSI SCHAEFER. “Thanks to this cooperation, in the future we will be even more successful in implementing the highest quality and most efficient solutions in the field of intralogistics, which offer added value beyond the benefits of the individual products.” In these concepts, the mobile robots ensure the automated storage and retrieval of bins and cartons in the area of small parts handling. They can be customized individually by combining them with racking systems, conveying systems, automated guided vehicles or workstations and bins from the SSI SCHAEFER portfolio. All modules are scalable, covering every phase of the customer’s development.
In 2015, the Chinese manufacturer HAI ROBOTICS launched an autonomous case handling robotic system for the first time and by that set new standards in the area of goods-to-person picking systems. “We use robotic technologies and AI algorithms to help our customers reduce costs, increase productivity and strengthen competitiveness,” emphasizes William Li, Vice President Sales Europe at HAI Robotics. “Together with SSI SCHAEFER as a globally active partner that consistently follows this principle as well, we can now launch our robotics solutions in an even bigger market.”
In the future, customers from the sectors of fashion, e-commerce, retail, manufacturing, 3PL, electronics, pharmaceuticals, energy, and automobiles will continue to benefit from the technology and solution expertise bundled by SSI SCHAEFER and HAI ROBOTICS, as predefined solutions for smooth integration contribute to reducing costs and increasing efficiency as well as measurability and transparency.
