The responsibilities of this role are to lead the Customer Service and RM site-based teams to deliver professional engineering services to customers, to implement more efficient internal working processes and to ensure that customer activities return an overall profit.

To manage the Resident Maintenance teams at several customer sites in the UK. 

• Define and implement a way of working with CS Sales colleagues to ensure forward-visibility of quoted and sold products
• Implement lean and efficient ways of working to reduce time spent on administrative tasks.
• Ensure that the size, skill-set, and remuneration package of the Service and RM team are appropriate for the tasks undertaken and ensure profitable operations.
• Extend the portfolio of services provided by the RM team in order to improve the profitability of the team.
• Manage the Resident Maintenance teams at a number of customer sites with the emphasis on: Health & Safety; staff recruitment, training, and development; and leading the teams such that they achieve all contracted SLAs.
• Measure SLA performance month on Month and demonstrate RM field effectiveness.
• Support new System Launches from transition to stable operations.
• Measure all RM sites against SSI Schaefer Maintenance philosophy SMP and support all sites in benchmarking this
• Create / Maintain / set the standard of a Safety culture within RM
• Be part of and build on the SSI CS Resident Maintenance brand

• Service background in the Automation / Materials Handling / M&E contracting / Plant or Manufacturing Engineering industries.
• Experience of managing Service teams and customer relationships.
• Experience of work at similar level.
• Good understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation.
• Knowledge of industrial control systems and, ideally, WCS.
• Experience of supporting automated materials handling systems.
• Experience of PLC and WCS control systems.
• Knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
• Computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Exchange
• IOSH Managing Safety or NEBOSH
• General commercial awareness and business knowledge.

Salary: Competitive
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift work: Monday to Thursday, 8.30 am to 16.45 and Friday 8.30 am to 15.30.
Working Location: Remote (with travel to offices)
Holiday: 25 days p.a plus bank holidays
