The RM shift Engineer is responsible for the day to day maintenance engineering of the site, to provide technical expertise ensuring all preventive and corrective activities are completed to the highest standards in line with all current legislation. To guide the maintenance technicians and support the shift manager with high level technical expertise, ensuring that equipment availability is maintained to the highest level.

  • To be part of the Resident maintenance team, to complete preventive and corrective maintenance.

  • Ensuring all activities undertaken are done so in a safe considered manner, in line with legislation and site risk assessments.

  • Maintain a healthy relationship with all shift team members, working collaboratively to maintain best practise.

  • Ensuring that all spares that are used, are processed accurately and timely.

  • Always Represent SSI-Schaefer in a professional manner.

  • Maintain a professional relationship with customer colleagues.

  • To support the RM shift manager to produce and maintain Risk Assessment’s and Method Statements for the site, ensuring full compliance.

  • Report any noncompliance of 3rd party contractors to line manager.

  • All Engineering activities are completed effectively and efficiently, working to the SSI systems and processes as specified in the O&M

The following core skills are desired: 

  • Experience with Conveyors, Cranes, sortation and Hanging garmen

  • Knowledge and experience of PLC / Control systems and associated networks

  • An understanding of WCS/WMS

  • An understanding of CMMS

  • Computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Exchange

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications required:

  • NVQ Level 3, ONC or Full B–Tech in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering

  • Apprenticed trained

     

Shift work – 2 x 12.25-hour days 2 x 12.25 hour nights 6 days off
