The RM Shift Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance engineering of the site, to provide technical expertise ensuring all preventive and corrective activities are completed to the highest standards in line with all current legislation.

Your main duties will be: 

  • To be part of the Resident Maintenance team, to complete preventive and corrective maintenance on time and to the highest standard in line with customer expectations and KPI

  • All engineering activities are completed effectively and efficiently, working to the SSI systems and processes as specified in the O&M

  • To be able to troubleshoot within the hired bias (electrical or mechanical or multiskilled)

  • Ensuring that all spares that are used are processed accurately and timely and any corrections are made where there are noted deviations from the Audits

  • Complete onsite technical Audits time to time of both equipment and spares

  • Coach and mentor as SME (subject matter expert) new technicians on all pieces of equipment

  • Support Continuous Improvement at site and feedback suggestion ideas

  • To support the RM shift manager to produce and maintain Risk Assessment’s and Method Statements for the site, ensuring full compliance

  • To be a role model H&S example and monitor and feedback to those around you based on the example you set

  • To be procedurally acquainted with our safe Systems and Procedures in place that cover how as a business, we deal with the management of Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership Focus
    - To support the Shift Manager in a proxy capacity and be able to mirror these duties when the Shift Manager is unavailable
    - To provide ongoing support of c.30 days per annum with leading the team in place of the Shift Manger 
    - To carry out basic level day to day leadership within the team 
    - Conduct basic maintenance planning techniques 
    - Conduct and maintain PPV / attendance and return to work processes 
    - To lead High impact site stoppages 
    - Periodic attendance to customer facing meetings
     

  • Technical Focus

The following core skills and experience are desired: 

  • Experience with Conveyors, Sorters, Cranes, Hanging garment, ROBOTICS or similar

  • Complete Autonomy within role – very minimal supervision

  • Knowledge and experience of PLC / Control systems and associated networks

  • An understanding of WCS/WMS or SCADA equivalent

  • An understanding of CMMS / PPM philosophies

  • Computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications required: 

  • ONC/HNC or Full B–Tech in Electrical / Electronic or Mechanical Engineering

  • NVQ L3+

  • Diploma Engineering

  • Apprenticed trained

  • Relevant sector Skills (First aid / Abrasive wheels / MEWP&IPAF / IOSH)


     

Shift work – 12-hour days Rotating pattern (Suez, Panama, Continental Variations)
