RM Engineer Sainsbury's (WEB6771)

• Day to day maintenance of the fast-flowing material handling equipment.
  o Ensure maintenance and repairs are carried out to a high standard 
  o Ensure response time to issues is kept to a minimum

• Delivery of key service elements such as planned preventative maintenance, fault rectification and fault eradication.

• Ensure all aspects of their working day are logged as per the CMMS processes
  o Use CMMS effectively, ensure utilisation is above 90% per shift, capturing all aspects of maintenance and breakdowns on site

• Drive continuous improvement on site with their peers and others 
   o Work with the team to promote continuous improvement

• Fully interact with customer in day to day activities
  o Build the relationship with DHL management 
  o Report any health and safety issue directly to DHL management

• Ensure compliance with site CMMS
  o Ensure CMMS is used to capture all servicing, faults, parts used.

• Comply with Health and Safety legislation
  o Work within H&S guidelines and processes.

• To fully embrace and ensure delivery of all aspects of the clients business

• Maintain a healthy relationship with all shifts and team members, working collaboratively to maintain best practise

• Identify and resolve issues with the materials handling equipment, including identification of root causes, working proactively with the customer operations team.
  o Use effective tools to identify root causes of breakdowns/equipment issues i.e. 5 “Y’s”

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and submit proposals.
  o Working with the team submit 3 minor improvements and 1 major improvement on site, the areas to be covered are working environments, equipment, education of equipment.

• Effectively communicate throughout the SSI team and with the customer

• Training of new Engineers and Flow Controllers

• Creation of training and 'How To' documents to help with site tasks.

• Support for the RM Engineering Shift Manager, filling in duties as required.
  o Morning meeting 
  o Liaising with customer on site issues 
  o Safe and sound walk round 
  o Driving the shift workload in the absence of a Shift Manager, ensuring the 12-hour shift is productive.#

• Employees have responsibility for information security for all information associated with SSI Schaefer during employment and where appropriate in respect of Confidentiality, which may extend beyond the employment period.
   

• ONC/HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or PLC Engineering. 
• A recognised apprenticeship in an appropriate engineering discipline. 
• Recognised cross training from Mechanical to Electrical Engineering of vice versa. 
• PLC knowledge and experience is advantageous. 
• Health and Safety Qualifications desirable. 
• Experience of automated materials handling equipment. 
• Ability to work at height. 
• Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills desirable. 
• Good team working skills.
