The RM Shift Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of multi skilled shift engineers, maintenance technicians and the IT support function. The shift manager is a key point of contact for the customer and is responsible for maintaining equipment reliability to desired levels, ensuring that their technical knowledge and that of their teams are up to date and all preventive activities are completed to the highest engineering and H&S standards.
• To be part of the Resident maintenance team, analysing faults and technical data
• Responsible for H&S onsite, ensuring all team members adhere to correct processes
• Communicate regularly with other RM shift managers to ensure continuity of approach and that standards are maintained
• Ensuring all maintenance activities carried out adhere to current legislation
• Provide technical knowledge transferring these skills and knowledge throughout the teams
• Effective management of spares on site
• Liaise with the customer and represent the company
• To support the RM Engineering manager to produce and maintain Risk Assessment’s andMethod Statements for the site, ensuring full compliance
• Coordinate 3rd party contractors in relation to the automation
• Staff appraisals, managing performance, effective time management of the team
• All Engineering activities are completed effectively and efficiently, working to the SSI systems and processes as specified in the O&M
• Liaise with the central support team on all matters
• ONC/HNC or Full B–Tech in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
• Apprenticed trained
• IOSH or equivalent trained
• Team skills for team building, motivation and coaching
• Experience with conveyors, cranes, sortation and hanging garment
• Knowledge and experience of PLC / Control systems and associated networks
• An understanding of WCS/WMS
• An understanding of CMMS
• Computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Exchange
• Experienced in coaching and mentoring a team of engineers
• Highly proficient with verbal and written communication skills
Full time role: 40 hours per week
Working Hours: Shift work - 2 x 12.25-hour days 2 x 12.25-hour nights 6 days off
