The RM Shift Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of multi skilled shift engineers. The Shift Manager is a key point of contact for the customer and is responsible for maintaining equipment reliability to desired levels, ensuring that their technical knowledge and that of their teams are up to date and all preventive activities are completed to the highest engineering and H&S standards.
Your main duties will be:
To be responsible for a Resident Maintenance team, to complete preventive and corrective maintenance on time and to the highest standard in line with customer expectations and KPI
To support the RM Manager in a proxy capacity and be able to mirror these duties when the RM Manager is unavailable
All engineering activities are completed effectively and efficiently, working to the SSI systems and processes as specified in the O&M
Communicate regularly with other RM Shift Managers to ensure continuity of approach and that standards are maintained
To be able to troubleshoot within the hired bias (electrical or mechanical or multiskilled)
Effective management of all spares onsite and measure Audit performance
To be responsible for onsite technical Audits time to time of both equipment and spares
Coach and mentor as SME (subject matter expert) new technicians on all pieces of equipment
Support Continuous Improvement at site by co-ordinating multiple projects and feedback suggestion ideas where there is a need
Staff appraisals, managing performance, effective time management of the team including shift plan editing
To support the RM Manager to produce and maintain Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the site, ensuring full compliance
To support the RM Manager to produce and maintain local team briefs for clear process handling
Liaise with the customer and represent the company
Maintain a healthy relationship and to working collaboratively to maintain best practise with both the customer and internal colleagues
Key Responsibilities:

- To be procedurally acquainted with our safe Systems and Procedures in place that cover how as a business, we deal with the management of Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety
- Coordinate 3rd party contractors in relation to the automation

The following core skills and experience are desired:
Experience with Conveyors, Sorters, Cranes, Hanging garment, ROBOTICS
Complete autonomy within role – minimal supervision
Knowledge and experience of PLC / Control systems and associated networks
An understanding of WCS/WMS or SCADA equivalent
An understanding of CMMS / PPM philosophies
Computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications required:
ONC/HNC or Full B–Tech in Electrical / Electronic Engineering / Mechanical / Similar Engineering discipline
Apprenticed trained
IOSH or equivalent Trained
Team Skills for team building, motivation and coaching
Relevant sector Skills (First aid / Abrasive wheels / MEWP&IPAF / IOSH)
Full-time role: 42 hours (average) per week Working Hours: 12-hour days.
Shift work, rotating pattern (Suez, Panama, Continental Variations)
