Intelligent sequencing for smooth palletizing

Sequencing ensures that items are provided for palletizing in the exact sequence required. To do this, the previously stored bins are retrieved from the automated small parts warehouse, buffered and conveyed to the next process. This enables highly dynamic and stable mixed palletizing – even with complex product ranges. The result is branch-specific pallets with optimum stability and maximum packing density.

Perfect sequence thanks to 3D-Matrix Solution®

In the ASPW, with over 600,000 storage locations, approx 700 SSI Flexi shuttles store and retrieve the items triple-deep. The integration into the 3D-Matrix Solution® enables parallel buffering and precise sequencing of goods. Approx. 280 lifts transport the bins at the right time to the palletizing sections with a total of 34 palletizing robots – fully automated and precisely tailored to the respective branch. In the chilled temperature area, reusable crates are also automatically stored and palletized.

Precise mixed palletizing for 800 branches

A total of 34 robots take over automated palletizing and assemble the retail units with the utmost precision into stable, store-friendly mixed pallets. Thanks to intelligent software controls and sequenced item in-feed, pallet compilation is particularly space-saving and transport-safe. This not only reduces transport volumes, but also increases the efficiency of the outbound deliveries to over 800 Coop branches.
