Efficient storage processes thanks to smart software solutions

The powerful logistics software WAMAS controls all intralogistics processes at Coop – from goods-in inspection and automatic picking to shipping. Thanks to intelligent networking, seamless transparency and central process controls, WAMAS ensures energy-efficient, scalable and highly-available operation. The software forms the digital backbone of the automated distribution center.

Central control for stable processes

At the heart of the system lies the WAMAS Warehouse Management System (WMS), which coordinates all activities in both ambient and chilled storage areas, including inventory management, order processing, and shipping. The integrated WAMAS Material Flow System (MFS) guarantees a smooth material flow, identifies bottlenecks, and dynamically optimizes workflows. A key component of the high automation level in picking is the SSI Case Picking system, which enables efficient goods handling through 10 depalletizers and 34 palletizing robots. Intelligent algorithms and advanced image processing from the WAMAS Case Picking module support depalletizing and further enhance palletizing accuracy and efficiency. The WAMAS Control Center complements the software package with real-time visualization, performance monitoring, and KPI tracking across all automation levels. Overall, WAMAS provides transparent, data-driven process management and highly efficient store logistics, enabling Coop to supply more than 800 branches quickly, reliably, and sustainably.
