Facilitating a solid and secure records management

Organizations of all sizes can be weighed down by the volume of business records—created throughout a company’s lifecycle—from plant facilities, customers, vendors, to regulatory agencies. How do companies store, locate, and retrieve this mountain of organizational information?

Founded 55 years ago, Crown Records Management, a division of Crown Worldwide Group, continues to safeguard millions of confidential information on behalf of clients across the world. Despite the data-led age, paper-based records continue to evolve in today’s paradigm of compliance, putting stress on the value-chain for a shorter turnaround response time. Records management services as such must then focus on efficiency and security altogether for a seamless record management experience. With SSI SCHAEFER, Crown Records Management implemented the 7-story Mezzanine Shelving System to achieve more usable space and faster retrieval without increasing the facility footprint.

Solutions for a modern document management

Strengthening a Deeper Customer Connection

Today’s expectation of a next-day delivery calls for a shorter route to market strategy. Crown Records Management’s newest facility is located in the south of Malaysia, where the proximity to their customers in the region would be closer. This ingenious outreach into this area not only assure their customers with a quicker and safer access to their data records, it is also a comprehensive move to better streamlined its services to the customer’s operations.

Storage Capacities Without Increasing Footprint

The new rack-supported Mezzanine maximizes storage capacity and houses over 350,000 carton boxes within 2,000 m² of floor area. The construction and layout are engineered specifically to provide Crown Records Management with high-density storage and accessibility to records. Furthermore, together with the mono-post, passageway and cargo lifting hoist, the design is conducive to the overall workflow routes.

Structural Integrity: Functionality and Safety

The Mezzanine durable structure was designed to ensure that all the employees work in a safe environment, while maximizing the area’s storage capacity. To ensure protection against fire and damages, the system is decked with mesh decking panels and mesh flooring for better lighting, ventilation and water penetrations should the water sprinkler is triggered on.

Impressions on the partnership with Crown Worldwide Group

“This is an extremely important project for Crown, being the first centre of its kind in the south of Malaysia and a strategic project. Therefore, it was important to us to engage a reputable company with a track record of success in delivering racking solutions: on time, on budget and flawlessly. SSI SCHAEFER demonstrated this to us during the bid phase, however, and most importantly they delivered.”
