Since establishing our presence in Malaysia in 1991, SSI SCHAEFER has grown alongside the country’s evolving intralogistics landscape. In the early years, our focus was on optimizing space and improving operational efficiency through pallet racking systems, solutions that remain a cornerstone of modern warehouses today.

A History of SSI SCHAEFER in Malaysia

In the early 1990s, warehouse operations in Malaysia were still largely manual, with many facilities relying on floor stacking for pallet storage. Recognizing the need for better space utilization as well as more structured and safer storage systems, SSI SCHAEFER began introducing solutions to enable companies to improve their warehouse operations. Over time, such solutions became a standard feature in modern warehouses, laying the foundation for more advanced intralogistics systems that would follow.

Today, SSI SCHAEFER is delivering end-to-end solutions to enable companies in Malaysia to meet tomorrow’s supply chain challenges.

1991: SSI SCHAEFER began operations in Malaysia with our first office at Wisma Lim Foo Yong in Subang Jaya.

1998: The first SSI SCHAEFER production facility in Asia opened in Simpang Renggam, Johor.

2003: As the team in Malaysia grew, SSI SCHAEFER moved its operations to N-Tatt Building, Subang Jaya.

2012: SSI SCHAEFER moves to its current premises at Taman Perindustrian Sime UEP in Subang Jaya.

2010s to 2020s: SSI SCHAEFER expands its presence in Malaysia by playing host to strategic regional functions. 

Today: The SSI SCHAEFER Group is a leading global solution provider for all areas of intralogistics. With innovative technologies and software, the family-owned company empowers customers to increase the efficiency and sustainability of their storage, picking, and transport processes and is shaping the future of intralogistics — in accordance with our motto "Think Tomorrow".
