Growing Together: Norazlin’s Journey at SSI SCHAEFER

This belief has shaped Norazlin Abd Rahim journey since she joined SSI SCHAEFER’s Kuala Lumpur office in 2007.
Initially joining the company as an Accounts Clerk, she focused on administrative tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, data entry, and supporting month-end closing.
“I wanted to improve my accounting knowledge and provide meaningful financial insights so I could support the team in making better business decisions. I knew I had to adopt a growth mindset early on.”
Embracing the spirit of lifelong learning, Norazlin upskilled herself by taking courses in accounting and finance. Over time, Norazlin has been entrusted with more responsibilities and is now an Accounts Executive.
Today, she supports operations across Malaysia and contributes to accurate reporting, compliance, and sound financial decision-making. It’s because of people like her that ensures the business runs smoothly behind the scenes.
People and culture are the reasons why Norazlin continued her career at SSI SCHAEFER after nearly two decades.
It’s the people that keep me going every day. Thanks to the supportive mentors and colleagues, I’ve been given opportunities to take on more responsibilities and challenge myself to keep on learning.
Norazlin enjoys exchanging ideas with her colleagues who span from Gen X to Gen Z, learning from different perspectives along the way. This has strengthened teamwork and built trust and mutual respect within the team.
“I like the fact that we have a multigenerational team that can work well together. We have robust exchanges and a diversity of thought. Everyone cooperates and helps each other achieve our goals within the set timelines.”
