Even at school, I wanted to learn a profession involving electronics. During a two-day internship during my secondary school years, I got to know the profession of an electronics technician in more detail and then applied at SSI SCHAEFER.
My job is the maintenance of electrical machines and systems. I am not only deployed when something is not working, but I also carry out regular maintenance and check the safety equipment, for example light barriers, so that people are not put at risk. In addition, my tasks also include the programming of machine and plant controls.
What I really like about my job is that I get to know many departments and different machines, which means I also gain a lot of knowledge. And when I have set up a control system and then see that the machine is working as it should, that's also a good feeling.
In my free time, I'm involved with the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW). So "technology" accompanies me there, too.
I work in all departments here. I started in product management, where I learned a lot about our products. Then I was in the mailroom, where I got to know many colleagues. At the moment I'm in the shipping department.
My colleagues are very attentive and thoughtful and support me in every way. I have also already recommended training at SSI SCHÄFER to others.
Since a while I have also been a member of the youth and trainee representation here in Neunkirchen.
