WAMAS Maintenance Center (WMC): SSI SCHAEFER Simplifies the Transition to Data-Driven Maintenance
SSI SCHAEFER combines maintenance processes into one Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for intralogistics
The WMC Starter Kit, WMC Pro and WMC Ultimate enable a gradual expansion to predictive maintenance
Unplanned downtime, increasing demands on system availability, and the growing effort required to coordinate maintenance and servicing activities present significant challenges for many warehouse operators. At the same time, the need for data-driven decision-making and predictive maintenance is increasing in order to optimize resource utilization and minimize the risk of equipment failures. With the WAMAS Maintenance Center (WMC), SSI SCHAEFER offers a modular Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) designed for automated and semi-automated warehouses. The solution integrates asset structures, maintenance planning, work order management, spare parts management, and reporting capabilities within a single system. This enables organizations to streamline maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and increase overall system availability.
One software, countless options
The WMC Starter Kit forms the digital foundation for structured maintenance processes. With the upgrade options WMC Pro and WMC Ultimate, companies can expand the basic solution to include machine data, smart planning, intelligent maintenance prioritization and the on-going integration of additional data and Ai-supported functions. All packages use the same platform and can be expanded without the need for a system change or data migration. SSI SCHAEFER also handles the complete initial setup and configures system structures, components and maintenance plans so that customers can start without complex commissioning.
Stefan Godina, VP Field Services at SSI SCHAEFER, comments: “Many organizations are challenged to meet growing system availability demands while operating with limited workforce resources. With the WAMAS Maintenance Center, we create a centralized data foundation for modern maintenance operations and provide a scalable path from digital maintenance management to predictive maintenance.”
Central maintenance planning and mobile execution
The browser-based web solution supports maintenance managers in planning, controlling, and analyzing maintenance activities. Through the mobile CMMS app, service teams can access work orders directly at the equipment, document completed tasks, record working times, and capture photos and measurement data. WMC also manages spare parts and inventory and supports replenishment through the SSI SCHAEFER Webshop. All maintenance data is centrally hosted by SSI SCHAEFER, protected through role-based access control, and available in real time.
From preventative to predictive maintenance
WMC supports both preventive and reactive maintenance processes. Transparent maintenance histories, fault records, priorities, and spare parts requirements provide a solid foundation for planning and resource allocation. WMC Pro and WMC Ultimate further enhance these capabilities by incorporating machine and condition monitoring data. Smart Planning takes shift capacities, risks, and operational impacts into account, prioritizing maintenance activities based on urgency and their effect on material flow.
For predictive maintenance, machine and operational data can be entered using Edge technology. Depending on the system, additional hardware may be required. The data supports maintenance forecasts and needs-based maintenance.
Easy integration, ready for the future
The WAMAS Maintenance Center is suitable for fully automated and semi-automated systems from SSI SCHAEFER as well as equipment from third-party suppliers. External facility assets, such as fire protection doors or air conditioning units, can also be incorporated into maintenance planning. The CMMS software can be integrated into customer-specific Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and control systems. Interfaces are developed and configured as required. WMC supports both in-house maintenance teams and SSI Resident Maintenance® services.
The modular package structure combines preventive maintenance, data-driven maintenance planning, and predictive maintenance on a single platform. Companies can start with the functionality they currently require and gradually expand the solution as their operational needs grow.
